This sounds utterly crazy, but while reading South I got a strong hankering to visit Antarctica in person. I want to see the ice packs breaking, and the mirages that make gigantic ice bergs appear in the sky. I want to see the penguins, and the pressure ridges, and the 24 hours of sunlight.

I think, in a strange way, it would be sad to die without having seen such a truly awe-inspiring part of Creation!
